What to expect when you attend counselling:
Before you arrive for your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a background history form, and review an informed consent document which will provide more details about therapy. When you meet with the therapist, they will go through these materials with you and create a treatment plan to meet your needs. The therapist is committed to keeping all information you share confidential, and you will not be required to discuss anything that you do not want to bring up. The focus of each session is to review your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and assist you to make changes to help you achieve your goals.
